The paintings I possess chosen pertaining to my essay are Tree of Desire by & diego rivera Campbell’s Soups Can simply by Andy Warhol. These are the paintings that really drew my interest since both artists seemed to be talking with me with their works. These types of paintings have helped me be familiar with power of fine art in speaking to your community and the press.
In the painting Shrub of Desire by Frida Kahlo the vital thing I noticed was the stark distinction between the left and right side with the painting. You will find two Fridas in the painting and the a single on the left is lying on the hospital understructure. This was employed by her to symbolize the stress she was required to go through following she met with a traffic accident. Two deep weakling scars is seen on her back and they got my attention. I noticed the scars immediately because they will seemed to be imposing a lot of physical and mental discomfort on her. Ahead of her crash she was a bright student aspiring to attend medical university. This accident changed the complete course of her life. A vertical range splits the two dimensional painting into two spaces. Within the right side of the painting we see a Frida who have looks extremely beautiful, comfortable and dressed in classic clothing. Your woman holds up an indication that says ‘Tree of Hope, Continue to be Strong’ which tells us that she expects to hold her head in spite of all of the agony she has been through. Your woman can also be noticed holding a corset which will reminds us which the accident has affected her body and she needs a corset for the remainder of her lifestyle. The side of the piece of art is shiny as the sunlight shines for the hospitalized Frida. She appears to be feeding sunlight with her sacrificial blood vessels as per a great Aztec practice. The right aspect is dark and the celestial satellite shines onto her. The moon is a metaphor for her womanhood and strength. This painting stimulated my imagination mainly because although in the beginning it looked like there was a negative or sad piece of content, on deeper examination I discovered out that this work symbolizes Frida’s courage in the face of disaster. It seems to become a message to the audience showing them to remain strong to see the positive elements in every scenario. I believe that Frida coated with a large amount of emotion and this painting reveals us just how mixed human being emotions can be. I believe this kind of painting was done to share her emotions and to desire the audience to get a sterling silver lining actually at dark moment. Some might find the bright side from the painting troubling but the irony is bright spot of hope everyone struggling mental or physical pain.
The piece of art Campbell’s Soup Can simply by Andy Warhol seemed attractive to me as it seemed to give me an almost comforting and homely feeling. This could be mainly because canned soups is a comfort and ease food the other we consume quite frequently. Familiarity is something that helped me relate to this portrait. The first thing in this painting that caught my own attention was how much effort the artist has put into detailing and making the can look practical. The color crimson being used generously also hinted that the can easily contains tomato soup. Warhol painted 32 different flavours of soup which symbolized the 32 products sold by Campbell at the time. This tells us that Warhol proved helpful like a machine to produce all these paintings, just like the machines in factories that actually package the soup. He used top to bottom and curved lines to depict the can. White colored spaces are noticed liberally which will mimicked corporate and business art in the 1960s. At first look the painting might look monotonous but Warhol seemed to be which represents the capitalist and consumer ways of the normal man. He previously consumed Campbell’s soup every day for 20 years and this combined with his enchantment of advertising sparked the motivation in this painting. It is far from evident through the painting whether Warhol loved mass development or was criticizing it. His art work was one of many pieces of art that sparked the pop movements. Warhol demonstrated that every day time ordinary issues can be made into art but still have an impact about society.
