Georges and fellow classmates, I have searched about a couple of poems to make a comparison between your two. I’m here today to talk to you about them and find out what you think at the end with the speech. The 2 poems We researched were (on the sea, author Steve Keats) and (sea fever, author Ruben Masefield). from this article you can see from the title of the poetry that they are robot about the sea but don’t be mixed up, they’re equally completely different tales. Both of these poetry talk about the sea, they are both mentioning the sea as a human and identifying this in a human characteristic kind of way.
Even as we can see along the sonnet (on the sea), the author uses terms as uproar rude, mighty swell, caverns, and vexed, destitute shores. He also mentions The Greco-Roman goddess Hecate associated with magic and the untamed. This is referring to the sea and just how ruthless it can be. This composition deals with mother nature, focusing on the wild and violent part. This poem also indicates human actions.
The composition is assessing the nature while using human being, because we can also get wild and violent. It appears a criticism of the indifference of the human being -above every when living and employed in big metropolitan areas. So the creator may be contacting our focus – the speaker from the poem address to all of us (Oh ye! ) -And giving us a piece of advice- not to undervalue nature. John Masefield’s poem “Sea Fever” is a masterpiece of design that brings beauty towards the English terminology through it is use of tempo, imagery and several complex statistics of talk. The imagery in “Sea Fever” advises an adventurous ocean that appeals to all five senses.
Along with an adventurous ocean, “Sea Fever” as well sets a mood of freedom through imagery of traveling gypsies. These poems both make use of a rhythmic develop in their stanzas. In the sonnet “sea fever” lines a few and four, by using rhythmic terminology, these lines say “And the wheel’s kick plus the wind’s music and the white-colored sail’s nervous-looking, And a gray mist on the sea’s face, and a gray dawn breaking” These are only two lines in the composition but if you actually read the composition you can see examples of rhyme throughout the whole poem.
In the sonnet “On the sea” instances of rhythmic language can be found in the lines some and your five, these lines say “Of Hecate leaves them their particular old shadowy sound, Frequently tis in such mild temper found” and as inside the first sonnet, this sonnet also has stroking language over the whole poem. These poetry also have their very own differences; they each talk about the ocean but in a different perception. The sonnet, (on the sea), talks about the sea and how irritated it can be, it can be comparing the ocean with individual actions and is also warning the humans to become careful with the nature. It talks about the Greco-Roman goddess Hecate connected with magic plus the wild.
I actually wonder if the author is discussing something that happened to his life that made him so angry to write this kind of poem, what do you think it could be? The Author uses language tactics like Representation, Capitalisation and rhyme. He personifies the ocean in line five by saying it has a mild temper.
The author uses capitalization for the term “Sea” making me believe he was trying to make the subject of the composition a human. “He uses Rhyme throughout the whole poem and it does make the poem appear more interesting to study. The sonnet (sea fever) is completely contrary to the sonnet (on the sea) since sea fever talks about the ocean but it talks about a sailor and how he just can’t wait to get on a ship and sail in the sea. This poem covers a sailor who is extremely excited to venture out to sea, he would like adventure, and he desires a crazy journey into the ocean living the vagrant gypsy your life. The author identifies the sea as being a home to the sailor contrary to the sonnet (on the sea) which will refers to the ocean as a crazy, dangerous and ruthless place.
The author uses language approaches like Metaphors, emotive terminology and Repeating. Examples of Metaphors used in this poem happen to be (sea as well as the sky) series 1, (star to steer) line a couple of, (and gull’s way as well as the whale’s way where the wind’s like a whetted knife) range 10. Types of Emotive dialect used in this poem will be (to the lonely marine and the sky) line one particular (and the ocean gulls crying) line almost 8. An example of surfeit is that this individual starts every single stanza with the sentence (I must drop the seas again). Thus in conclusion these poems are very similar but different in many ways, and like me and also you each of them has their own ups and downs.
They will both discuss the sea yet each within a different perception. Thanks for hearing my talk and I expect you gained a little data from me today.
