Describe a number of the ways that the role of culture can shape each of our expectations about how people are designed to behave? Use the following terms in your justification: values, rules, material, position, groups and roles. Traditions can shape our expectations about how individuals are exposed to respond. Having a father who dished up in the Military, my brothers and I were required to learn a lot of interesting things in life.

Material components to get my family growing up was required to deal with a whole lot of hand-me-down clothes, playing outside constantly because all of us didn’t include a TELEVISION, and we didn’t have computers. Values are emotional billed believes that represent a collection of principles that someone in regards to be good or correct (Vissing, 2011). Ideals are still a major part around me, being taught from wrong turned me into the person My spouse and i am today and now I actually am teaching my children the same principles that I was taught previously.

My friends and I realized that if we ever do something wrong we were going to enter trouble for it. Roles are specific behaviors that are anticipated for people to keep a certain status (Vissing, 2001). Growing as an Army brat we recognized as children are places in the family, all of us helped our mom clean your house and our dad went to work 12 to 14 hours each day then came home and that we mostly might stay out of his way. Each of our roles are really easy growing up.

Rules are recommended patterns for behavior for some of the people most of the time provided specific scenarios (Vissing, 2011). The rules of being in the Army brat was viewed my dad place his homogeneous on every day and gonna work, mother coming in having this on with school making sure we were dressed, if your woman didn’t like what we experienced put on we were told to return and put upon something different. My loved ones is a big part of my entire life. Groups just like my family, playing football, or maybe hanging out at the youth centre was an everyday life for people growing up. It was as well hard developing up on a military base, once your dad was at charge of everyone’s physical exercise tests kids were advised not to play with us.

Now that I’m grown up and have a family and my own, points have altered. I was married to a German in whose culture is unique from our bait in the states, and so both of our cultures happen to be raising our kids. They now include TVs, Xbox’s, iPods, and tablets.

The two of us teach all of them right from incorrect. Now I i am serving inside the U. T. Air Force. They will see the same things I could see growing up me donning a standard and gonna work, them living in base having to say goodbye to their very own friends each and every time I receive orders and have to move.

I never wished this to get my children. But looking back I can tell it wasn’t that poor. So yes culture can easily shape the expectations about how people are likely to behave. We wasn’t informed to join the military, I knew I was going to join.

My personal behavior and my children’s behavior is from a long distinctive line of parents educating us the right from incorrect and leading us to live our lives. Vissing, Y. (2011). Introduction to Sociology.
