Contrary to Homer, this kind of cry of description on the part of the central character appears less visceral than it can cool and poetic, almost cerebral in its reasoning and rationalizing. As opposed to the bloody pulp of the skull with the fallen soldier in Homer, there is small visceral quality to Aeneas’ cry to the gods previously mentioned, to help him in his relax. He says he wishes he were useless like his brothers, who had been killed prior to old Priam.
