The book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is around a cutting-edge society
which includes banned ebooks. Firemen that start fires are used to burn up the catalogs when
they are found. 1 fireman, Guy Montag, remembers a time prior to book burning up
and tries to right this kind of horrible locale of the living dead. An important element of
the book Fahrenheit 451 is the meetings between Montag and Clarisse.
The meetings between Montag and Clarisse begins a series of events and
changes in Montags way of thinking and lifestyle. Clarisse remarks Are you
happy? (10). Montag begins to realize that he is not happy after Clarisse
asks the question and arrives in the home. Montag observes Night. He was
unhappy. He was not happy. He said the words to himself. This individual recognized this kind of
as the true state of affairs (12). Montags understanding is activated at the
point in which Clarisse states But youre simply a man, in fact (7). This kind of
statement by simply Clarisse makes Montag think of a time if he was a child during
electricity failure, and he wants it not to get rid of.
In Montags second ending up in Clarisse, the two of them find a
dandelion and Clarisse tells Montag of rubbing it beneath his chin. Clarisse
talks about If it rubs off, it indicates Im in love (22). Clarisse rubs the
dandelion under Montags chin and Clarisse remarks What a pity, youre certainly not in
take pleasure in with any individual (22). Montag thinks that he is in love, although realizes that he
can be not in love and not at all happy.
In the third meeting, Montag begins to think that he has known Clarisse
forever. Montag states Is made me feel old and intensely much just like a father
(28). Clarisse comments Now you describe why you havent any kind of daughters like
me, if you value children a great deal? (28). Montag realizes that it is long
period since any individual has cared enough to inquire a good problem rather than sit around
and worry about themselves. Montag answers My wife, she… she simply never
needed any kids at all (28). Eventually Montag realizes that he must make
an effort to quit the turmoil of his society simply by bringing books back to life and
destroying the latest firemen.
The meetings between Montag and Clarisse result in an awareness and change
in Montags life. Montag realizes that his life and the lives of all the different
citizens are not as great as they are upset to be and is not happy
at all. In the end Montag makes a decision that he or she must change the approach society is run
once and for all. All of this is a result of the conferences between Montag and
Clarisse.
