1997).

It should be clear that the basic root concepts of both Christianity and Islam are incredibly similar. But despite these similarities, diverse interpretations from the two religions’ theologies regarding the ethos and telos have formulated many conflicts over the centuries. Oddly, it can be similar understanding of these biblical imperatives that has led to the misunderstandings between people of these religions. Both religions come with an underlying purpose, or telos, of reuniting its adherents with God/Allah after fatality through assistance and faithfulness in life (Smith 1991; Ibrahim et approach. 1997). This has played in different ways during history inside the two beliefs; different sects in both religions have at peak times interpreted this kind of telos in a way that demands the unification on this world under the theology of only one perception system. Particular branches of Islamic mysticism or Sufism promote the idea that this world is a fragmentation of the oneness that is Allah, and it is the goal of Islam to affect the reunification of the apparent separateness of this universe with or perhaps in Thor (Ibrahim et al. 1997). When taken to extremes, this kind of belief has led to serious disputes between the fans of the Islamic faith plus the other faiths and ethnicities they have came across.

This same telos has been of greater or perhaps lesser importance during the history and schisms of Christian theology, as well. Pertaining to Christians, yet , the reunification with God in the what bodes is influenced through Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection (Smith 1991). There are a few differences in Christians theology about this point; several beliefs preserve that Jesus’ crucifixion immediately redeemed the sins of mankind, while some believe that faith in Jesus as the son of God is needed (Smith 1991). Other theologians and Christian sects also have placed certain requirements of behavior and/or confession on the idea of payoff, which is incarnated in the reunification with Our god, but this kind of still echoes to the same basic telos.

Just as the ideas of arche plus the cosmos are intimately linked together during these two religions, the principles of telos and diathesis are also tightly related. By various items throughout the development of the , the burkha, the Christian and Muslim ideas of reunification taking place to only following death, but also in this world too, have led to bitter differences, military actions, and many deaths. It is because the shifts in the telos in this regard have had corresponding shifts in cast; to some adherents of equally religions even today it is a ethical imperative to spread the word of Christianity or Islam and try to convert others – put simply, to unify them with the intention of their religion (Smith 1991; Ibrahim et al. 1997).

These conversion rate have frequently taken the shape of army “enticement. inches Currently, there is not any overtly fundamentalist Christian region or group that is militaristically attempting to convert non-Christians, yet there are Muslim factions that believe in such coercion, even more through the break down of non-Muslim elements of the world than through forced change, but the impact is largely precisely the same. Christians are far from faithful in this regard; the Inquisition truly came straight after the reclamation of The country from the Islamic Moors, and was one of the bloodiest incidents of Christian societal prominence the world features ever noticed. Perhaps the clearest example of this kind of telos and ethos functioning are the several wars known as the Crusades, in which Christian and Muslim pushes fought intended for control of the Holy Area and the transformation of it is inhabitants.

Centering on the similarities between those two religions helps it be difficult to see why such assault would be important.
