The Parthenon in Athens was constructed in the style of the Ancient Greek Doric order, even though the Temple of Apollo in Didyma was created in the Ionic order. This kind of differentiation was due to site and time frame, for example the Parthenon was constructed in mainland Greece between 447-438BC although the Serenidad of Apollo was built in 300BC in Asia minor. It has caused equally temples to show differences in design and kind. The Parthenon shows Doric properties, for example the columns happen to be thick and short and little adornment or depth is displayed on the capital. Due to the Forehead of Apollo showing Ionic properties, the columns are much thinner, they may have volutes (spiral scroll for the capital) plus the quantity of articles is much better. The Content on the Parthenon also stay straight on to the platform in the temple, the main reason for this is the thickness and height with the columns, however due to the Temple of Apollo having thin tall articles they need to lay on a rectangular base section.

Location/Site

Additionally there is a variation inside the foundations and placement of the wats or temples, The Parthenon was designed to be viewed and admired form a distance, it is therefore located on excessive ground, on the other hand the Forehead of Apollo is located on flat earth, this means that an increased base is required to give the same sense of magnitude.

Structure

Due to the Parthenon becoming a Doric temple it features a rectangular flooring plan which has a series of methods surrounding the outer perimeter, articles are in that case located throughout the periphery in the space. The columns are more comfortable with support the top of the structure, 6 Content are also situated at the entry of the forehead. The interior involves 2 central rooms, the larger room is employed as a great inner haven whilst the smaller room provides a treasury (Reed. edu, n. d. ). The Apollo temple recieve more steps to climb up before reaching the temple, 7 in total, compared to the Parthenon’s three or more (En. wikipedia. org, 2018). The Apollo temple has more articles spread throughout the perimeter from the space and double the number of rows working down the part of the brow. The inside from the Apollo brow does not have a roof top, instead there is a large wide open sanctuary that is accessed by two passages which come down into the darker, this starts into the sun lit internal sanctuary (Penelope. uchicago. edu, n. deb. ). This kind of shows that although both temples or wats are used being a religious monument the use of space is different, the main reason for this is the Parthenon offering an internal area for religious activities even though the serenidad of Apollo offers an exterior area.
