She has certainly not liked the idea of her daughter being with a “white” guy even back when they were teenagers and

still in their renewed relationship as they are more mature. Another reason of her disapproval deals with a surprise later located that Pilar and Mike are 1 / 2 brother and sister.

We all also begin to see the racial issue with the wondered morale police officer, Charley Sort. He stressed Otis’ who was an African American who held a club that was popular among African Americans. He also shot a Philippine man he knew was smuggling foreign nationals across the border. And also at the conclusion of the film, he attempted to unjustly destroy Otis. His character just showed ethnicity prejudice and abuse of his positional power like a police officer.

One more concept from your film is definitely the conflict between the social classes within the community. This concept is usually portrayed inside the film by political political election approaching plus the involvement the Mayor Hollis Pogue inside the murder puzzle years ago. This individual struggles with dealing with his social and political status and possible loss of electricity as Gran in the real truth that dr. murphy is the one who killed Charley Wade.

There is also a section of the film that shows the class struggle as the look at building a new jail as it is an issue of the upcoming sheriff election which can be between Mike and a fellow Mexican colleague. And in addition from the issue about the school curriculum plus the debate regarding which one educates the “real” history of the region which one place the right contest as the “good guys”. The educators debate about this as they understand they reside in a community with different cultures, race, and classes.

In the film “Lone Star” we see a struggle between the contexts of contest, class, power struggle and border battles presented throughout the film. Even though the murder unknown is the main story of the film, these issues actually are what the film is about.

The film shows the social and racial struggles in the relationships between Otis and other African-Americans and Mexicans against Charley Wade, Mercedes and Mike, Sam and Pilar, and Mercedes and “illegal aliens”. Whatever contest or culture they may be, they need to deal with modern issues if it may be against their own contest or another contest. Some manage it in prejudice ways and some have “forget the Alamo” mentality.

“Lone Star” opens it is viewers to the sometimes “hidden” issues that tend to be unforeseen in border cities. Additionally, it shows the hardship the fact that community and individuals of the community deal with, not simply with each other nevertheless also inside themselves and identifying who also they really are aiming to be multicultural and dealing with people of numerous race and cultures.
