From the outset the composition the composition of the composition looks simple. Four stanzas each with four lines long which might be all similar length which in turn implies that the speaker is at control of her words. Even so once we begin to read the poem we see that every is not really well. The poem abounds with enjambment “Beloved sweetheart krydsning. Not a day since then” as well as inches Miss Havisham keeps blocking and starting her speech, making her sound as if shes not nearly in control of her words again highlighting the inner madness cooking up inside Miss Havisham.

Requirements of the enjambment makes the composition seem not naturally made. The last collection has a very long stuttering breaks “b-b-b-breaks” it sounds like the words are having out of Havisham’s mouth which once again creates the impression that Havisham can be not in charge of her brain. The unnecessary repetition of the harsh B sounds in line you beloved and bastard and again in line 13 and 14 go up bursting and Bang. These kinds of similar appears make this seem as though shes echoing sounds that she can’t quite get from her ambiguous brain. The alliteration as well as the enjambments pop up in unforeseen places. Its as if all of us never find out whats arriving. At any minute, Miss Havisham could genuinely lose her grip on reality, nevertheless somehow the lady just handles to cling on.

Throughout the poem there are a lot of imagery of death and suffering since this points out the thoughts and feelings of Miss Havisham. With 16 were told that its not only the cardiovascular thats competent of disregarding. “Don’t think it’s only the heart that b-b-b-breaks”. Appreciate doesnt only affect all of us emotionally, all of us feel that in our organs as well and with Havisham it seems her mind has additionally broken. Even more colour symbolism is displayed “white veil, a red balloon” the white in the veil generally seems to symbolise purity that Miss Havisham once had, but the red of the balloon reveals the anger inside of her that is placed now. The constant themes of violence and death inside the poem symbolise the craziness that now is located in Miss Havisham. “Give me a man corpse” and “wished him dead” happen to be examples of this. The poem also displays the idea that take pleasure in and hate are close to one another ” the two words happen to be separated by the end of the third stanza as well as the beginning of the last.
