Steve Steinbeck performed represent the lives of migrant staff in his new Of Rodents and Guys. The lives of migrant workers had been hard, tough and unrewarding. Migrant staff suffered from lower income because they were low-wage staff.

They were required to travel between American declares in search of in season work. Inside the novel, David Steinbeck shows the harsh reality of their lives. During the 1930s most men were forced to move about on their own to make money to send home with their families.

The majority of felt isolated and found it tough to make close friends as they shifted around a lot because of the nature of their work. Loneliness is a theme from this novel that may be reflective of times period when the novel was written. Steinbeck shows the loneliness of the migrant hacienda workers through Curley when ever one of the characters says “Curley ain’t giving no-one an opportunity,  this shows how reserved the workers become resulting from constantly being on their own and having simply no stable relationships.

George and Lennie are very different however , and do have somebody they can speak with and through the entire novella most characters are suspicious of their particular close relationship. During the time when the book is set The American Dream was very much surviving. During the time of The fantastic Depression many people jam-packed up their own families and going for LA as that seemed to be best places go. Every person had their particular interpretation with their ideal situation for life. For a lot of this would be celebrity or lot of money but George and Lennie had their own idea.
