Becoming the honorable husband that he is, he tells Alison what Nicholas told him and the lady puts on a great act pretending to be frightened on her behalf life and tells him to hurry away and keep her safe, and he does just that. This proves that she is incredibly dishonest intended for lying to John. She gets no guilt knowing that her husband loves her and this she tricks on him. Even though the girl does most of these dishonest things, in the end, she actually is the only figure in the story that will not have something bad affect them.
